Charles “Bud” Sorg, 88-year-old beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 7, 2024. Bud passed away at home with his two daughters beside him.
Bud was the most loving man. He took great care of his wife, Rose of 59 years prior to her death in 2016. He had a heart of gold and was a true servant of Christ. He will best be remembered by helping so many families and friends with any electrical problems, heating issues, plumbing, farming, yard care and just about anything imaginable. He was literally a jack of all trades. Bud was a veteran of the United States Army and worked many years as an electrician. He loved to fish, hunt squirrel, deer, turtles and even frogs. He raised white tail deer as pets which his grandchildren loved to play with. Bud will be incredibly missed by all. He was an extraordinary man.
Bud’s surviving family includes his two daughters, Angel DiGiallonardo (spouse Rick), and Susan Helms. (spouse Michael), 5 grandchildren: Allisha McKibben (spouse Joe), Sara DiGiallonardo, Mary, Kathryn and Matthew Helms, 4-great-grandchildren: Cameren, Alexander, Sophia and Skylar McKibben, brothers, Robert Sorg, Ralph Sorg, sisters, Bertha Ann Hulse, Beatrice Harper, Virginia Jenkins, JoAnn Redwine; A special brother in-law, Tony Valovich, 2 special sister in-laws, Joan Lee and Ruth Blystone, many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. And his faithful, loyal dog, Sparky.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 11am at Ancilla Domini Chapel 9601 Union Rd, Plymouth, IN 46563 with Fr. John Zemelko officiating. There will be a short reception in the basement fellowship room immediately following the service.

So sorry for your loss of Uncle Bud. When we lived in Gary he would stop by and visit. Aunt Rokie and Bud were a special aunt and uncle.

Although we rarely had an opportunity to talk over the years, I did in fact talk with Uncle Bud when my mother, Alice Lucille Sorg-Akers, became ill in 2013. He gave me good advice in handling a difficult situation, and I really appreciated it. Uncle Bud will be missed by the family. I remember when Bud called my mother, while she was in the senior’s home, and he kept her up-to-date on events. His keeping in contact was a great help. He will be remembered and will be always appreciated by us all. My the Lord bless him and his family.
